What are the Basic Rules of Baccarat?
The aim of the game in Baccarat is to predict which hand will be closer to nine – the player’s or the banker’s - and you can bet on either, as well as the tie. Additionally, the following rules apply to the banker & player hands following the initial deal:
Player Rules
If the player receives a natural hand of 8 or 9, it’s an immediate win and no further cards are drawn. As a result, the player’s hand stands.
The player’s hand is also required to stand on totals of 6 or 7.
On totals from 0 to 5, the player draws a third card (unless the banker has 8 or 9).
Banker Rules
When the banker’s first two cards total:
0/1/2 - Bank draws in all instances unless the player shows a natural 8 or 9.
3 – Bank draws if the player’s third card is 0-7 or 9. The banker stands when the player has 8.
4 – Bank draws if the player’s third card is 2-7. The banker stands when the player has 0/1/8/9.
5 – Bank draws if the player’s third card is 4-7. The banker stands when the player has 0-3 or 8-9.
6 – Bank draws if the player’s third card is 6-7. The banker stands when the player has 0-5 or 8-9.
7 – Bank stands.
8-9 – Neither hand draws a third card.
